What to see
According to Wikipedia, the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God was built at the beginning of the 17th century on a rocky slope above the village. It is one of the oldest surviving wooden churches in Maramureș. The paintings inside are the work of the painter Alexandru Ponehalschi.
In 1921 the Ieud Codex was found in the church loft, a manuscript that some historians count among the earliest writings in the Romanian language.
For groups
- For pupils, a living lesson in woodcraft and in the beginnings of written Romanian.
