The Museum of Imagination Maramureș (MiM) is an interactive museum that opened just before Christmas 2025 at 25 Gheorghe Șincai street in Sighetu Marmației, close to the pedestrian area. It is about 77 km, an hour and a half from the guesthouse.
What to see
- Optical illusions, visual installations and 3D scenes, made for photos and for hands-on exploring.
- The museum has two floors with movable walls, so the exhibits change from time to time. At opening there were around 50 works.
Hours and tickets
According to the museum’s website (mimaramures.ro), in 2026:
- Daily, 10:00–19:00, last entry at 18:30.
- Adults 50 lei, children aged 4–17 40 lei, children under 3 free.
- Group and school prices are available directly from the museum.
For groups
It combines easily with a day in Sighet: the Memorial of the Victims of Communism and the Village Museum are in the same town. Leave in the morning and you will be back for dinner. The photo on this page is illustrative.
